brake upgrades

i swapped a 302 in place of the 4-cyl in an 88 LX stick,we swapped in a 8.8 with quad shocks, now i need better brakes as the 347 goes in next week.I work in a auto repair shop as a service writer NOT a tech so i undestand concepts if not the actual repair-I am looking for a parts bin brake upgrade using four bolt wheels and prts i can call and get NAPA to deliever NOT some high dollar 4 wheel disc deal, like i know i can get fairmont wagon rear shoes and drums for that end of the car but what calipers and rotors will bolt up readily to the front for better binders?

None. The 4cyl cars used smaller 10" front discs.
Best bet is to find a 86-93 5.0 and get the front spindles and brakes off it. Those cars came with 11" front rotors from the. factory.

IMO It would be best to upgrade to 94-95 brakes. The 5 lug pattern allows more rim choices. 96-04 will also work but the tread width is a tad wider. Rear axles can be swap for 5 lug as well use the longer axle from a Bronco II/Ranger or Aerostar.
Then you could run all the newer 99-04 wheels. These can be gotten for cheap with tires. Nothing like a set of 17s for a few hundred on your Fox.

MADMIKE is wrong, the 86 mustang comes with the same 10 inch brakes and spindles as you have on your 4cyl right now. it wasn't till 87 that they made the new 11 inch design.
