351 Compression

I didn't know what forum to use but since my windsor is an '84 i figured you guys would know a little about them. I was just wondering what the stock compression was for an 84 windsor 2 barrel. [img]/forums/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img]

Which vehicle did it come out of? Not sure it really matters, but thought I'd ask.

Had a 351W 2 barrel in my 85 F150, and the compression was about 8.5 to 1. Not something to write home about. They have 69cc heads and I went with a set of early 70's windsor style heads, milled and 1.94/1.60 valves installed with a 61cc chamber gave me about 8.9 to 1 compression.

The thing with these motors was the cam. It is JUNK! Upgrade the heads and I added a cam from Comp Cams, something to the tune of 224 @ .05/.510/.502 inches of lift, and that woke the old girl up, almost to the point of being respectable. Along with a nice Holley 4 barrel of course.

I'd throw a turbo on that low compression beauty, tune it and go win some bets! [img]/forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]
