Re: 1989 mustang lx power door locks

Sure buddy!

Open the door panel and probe the controll to the locks for power with the Key ON.

With the key in the ON position you WILL have power to the door locks if the wiring is good. It is a fuseable link wire and not fused, so you need not look for a blown fuse.

If you have power, probe the other side of the switch for power when you activate the switch.
A simple test light will work for this.
If there is power to the other side if the switch and the locks do not actuate then you need to sheck for power at the LOCK side of the wiring.
If you have power there, you must replace the broken lock actuators.

How's that?

Does the cruise lite, light up when turned on? Could be a simple vacuum loss to the diaphragm under the hood....

Well I took the door panels off and my actuators are gone and the wire has been cut. My buddy says he has some I could try I hope they work. Mustang 42782 do you have a pic of the cruise servo so I can see what it looks like?
Thanks

The light will be green and somewhere visible in the dash... Look at it in the bright sunlight and you should be able to see where it is located...

There is a fuze for the Cruise I believe....

Re: 1989 mustang lx power door locks

Thanks is it a 30amp fuse? I saw some big aluminum fuses but I don't know how to check those. I checked all of the others and they are OK.

Thanks,

Rob
