Re: mass-air conversion

Auto or 5-speed?
Cobra uses 24lb/hr injectors & a matching mass air meter.
A9L is a 5 speed PCM.
A9P is a AOD PCM.

Re: mass-air conversion

Yep, the Cobra used it's own specific mass air meter...they can sometimes be a bear to find. You may want to go A9L, and get a Tweecer to tune the S/C in the future...or have it dyno tuned.

Re: mass-air conversion

ok thanxs man ,, I found an A9L on e-bay with a $110 buy it now, I went up to 80 and still not to reserve yet, I wanted to check in here first, and see what every body says , I might buy it but I still need meter, one guy has 70 mm cobra polished mm. and 24 lb inj. for like 200 b,i,now, do you think they would be good to go w/A9L, an a s/c then have a custom tune , on it
thanxs for any info , trying to put together a maf, that I can up grade power level , w/out having to replace the whole thing thanxs man

Re: mass-air conversion

You may want to wait untill you get the blower before you upgrade injectors...because depending on boost...you'll probably need way over 24lb/hr injectors...you may need more fuel...say 30-38-42lb/hr or more depending on...again...boost levels...then you'll need a pump to support it...and fuel lines...etc...

I'd say, get the A9L, convert it, use the stock 19lb/hr injectors for now, wait untill you want to do the blower...since 24lb/hr injectors are too much for a stock 302 (unless you do a heads/cam/intake swap to use the fuel), and then upgrade the injectors...that's my opinion.

As far as the MAF...you can have a mass air meter programmed, like Granatelli, Pro-M, etc, there's also a company called C&L Performance...I've got one of their 76mm meters on my '73, and havent had any problems, all you have to do is change the sample tubes in the meter housing and re-use the factory electronics.
