85 spoiler

i have a 85 gt with no spoiler if i get a spoiler of a newer mustang with the break light in it can the hole were the break light be fiberglassed in to look like 85 with out break light will the fiberglass work

all depends what material the spoiler is made of, but if its fiberglass your good to go.
What you need to do is take the spoiler and a spot blaster, these are the little gun hand held type blasters. Sand blast the area you want to glass in to open up the pores of the old fiber strands.
Get some fiberglass mat, and resin at the local parts store. Take some very light metal and just use either a very small rivet or if you can tape it in the hole from the back.
Mix up the resin EXACTLY like the can says, take some cut strips of fiberglass mat, and soak them in the resin for a second to coat them well.
Sit the strip on the spoiler where you have the glass sand blasted and use a paint brush to tamp it down to get the resin in the previous fiber strands, and to work out any air bubbles.
2 or 3 layers should do it. IF you follow these directions, specifically the blasting of the previous glass, it will hold forever without cracking at the edges etc.

Once the glass work is done you may use your favorite polyester filler over the glass once it is ground a bit. This will smooth things out and give you a great final product. Good Luck !!
