I want to purchase one the FLA-FR1890 manual rack conversion kits for a 79-93 Mustang.
My question is: the description of the conversion says it's designed to fit 79-93 5.0 Mustangs. Will it work in a Mustang that had a 4-cylinder? If assume the steering column is the same for a 2300 as a 5.0 and buy the parts with out first reseaching the conversion I will get bit by Murphys law .
Brenspeed has these conversions fairly cheap, would you guys suggest any
other source for the parts?
ask the manufacturer they will know for sure , but i would bet it will work , you also might find a stock manual rack from a junk yard or somewhere , that is what i have in mine and im happy with it
What did you use for a donor car for your manual rack and pinion?
I am putting a 98 mustang together and need a manual rack to fit an after market 79-93 tubular K member.
If I can't find one I will just cap the power rack.. It's only going 1320 ft in a straight line for about 10 seconds or so.
We did buy the Flaming River manual rack kit from Brenspeed. We received it with in a couple days of the order and it fit the car perfectly, no issues at all. It is much lighter than the old power rack also.
