5.0 cam choices

Need help choosing a cam. I have a 89 5.0 with GT40P heads. What's the biggest cam I can use with out worring about changing valve springs and p to v clearances? Any suggestions on a small budget like everyone else. THANX

Re: 5.0 cam choices

Stock HO Roller or maybe a B303 or E303.....

I would still advise spending the $60-70 on a set of springs......

Re: 5.0 cam choices

I would just use the stock cam and 1.6:1 rollers.

Re: 5.0 cam choices

On that motor you are very limited with the stock GT40 springs. I would upgrade to some Trick flow spings and even a trick flow cam. I currently run Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads with a Steeda #18 cam in my 93 coupe. My 87 has stock 87 heads with a very mild crane EFI cam.
