Re: Afr 165
There are many ways to figure out when the lifters are in the right location. I never liked the finger over the hole method. If you don't turn it fast enough, or your not sealed well, you will never know it, and adjust incorrectly.
The method I like, is rotate the engine till the exhaust valve is full open on #1, then adjust the intake valve on #1. Then rotate the engine till the intake on #1 is full open then adjust the exhaust on #1.
Repeat for all cylinders.
This way, it is impossible to make a mistake, or lose track of which ones you did, vs which ones you did not. One at a time.
Take your time, there is no rush on this.
Also you don't mention your cam at all. You should post this, jkust to make sure you have the right cam for your combo.
It is also important you have the right length pushrods for your set-up. Wrong length and your asking for trouble that may not show up for 1000+ miles.
Best.
