What is a decent drivable later fox worth?
Im just looking into buying a 87-93 or thereabouts fox, not set on it, just thinking. probably for daily driver duty. Maybe looking for one with bad paint and i would use it for practice so i dont have to mess up on my 73. What are some things to look for and what are the different levels worth?

Lower Milage Stock 5.0s ones that are decent are Usualy about $3000-$6000, higher milage ones that need work $1500-$3000, Sometime you'll come accross one for $800-$1500, but they usuall need alot of work.

Re: What is a decent drivable later fox worth?
thats about what i thought and was expecting. One guy on craigslist has the price at one dollar, 5.0, auto, needs one quarter window and headlight, said it ran when parked 2 years ago. Sounded like he wanted to get rid of it. I emailed him and said i would probably give him $300 for it, more if it runs and is decent, less if really bad, i would know more after looking. just making sure i wouldnt be making a mistake. i have most of the parts besides the trans itself for a t5 swap in that car, so thats probably what i would end up doing.

Re: What is a decent drivable later fox worth?
I picked up a 1983 GT 5.0 5 speed about 6 months ago for about $800 in LA, Clean Rust Free Body, But the interior is Trashed and it has alot of hard miles, but its a great start for a nice driver project.
I'm installing a fresh 306 GT40X headed motor, TKO600 and an 3.73 8.8. Should be pretty cool to cruise.
Keep your eyes peeled a deal comes up from time to time.

Re: What is a decent drivable later fox worth?
there are actually a few for sale under $2000 that look decent, the sellers say great body ect.. yada yada, i know better than to believe that, but some dont look too bad. a few with bad motors or trans that arent going for too much, and quite a few 5.0 motors going for around 400. So if i could get a decent body with a bad motor for around $1000, find a cheap 5.0, and not have a bad car.
what is the basic timeline for non-HO to HO and speed density to Mass Air?
Thanks

79-86 Carb'd
85-86 Some TBI
87-93 EFI
Not sure on the mass air, I never play with the EFI stuff. I'm guessing 88-89......

Re: What is a decent drivable later fox worth?
I talked to a guy with a 93LX, said it had the 2.3 and 5spd and the guy before him swapped in a 2.3 turbo svo, but couldnt get it started, it would turn over, (starter or by hand i dont know) but they never got it running. He said it doenst have much rust.... ya right, wants 1000 obo.
thought i would go look at it, see how much rust it actually has, if it looks like i could get it going, maybe offer him 600-700, then if i cant get the 2.3 running ill just drop in a 5.0 and t5, linkage should be the same for a 4cyl and v8 t5 correct?

dfree383 you're close but..
All '82+ 5.0's were H.O.'s.
'79-85 were carbed, '84-85 were offered with CFI
'86-88 were speed density
'89+ were MAF
