Gt40 heads

Will GT40 heads work with a carbureted 302. Just wondering because all of the engines with GT40 heads are injected

Re: Gt40 heads

The iron ones are bolt-on. GT40P's require special headers. The alum GT40-X's I *think* come in different combustion chamber sizes so you'd just need to be sure they won't up your compression too much, unless you want to run premium fuel anyway.

Re: Gt40 heads

Also, consider piston-to-valve clearances if simply doing a swap to the big valved options.

Yes they will swap fine.

If you have the GT40-p ones you'll need to verify spark plug clearance with your headers, Special headers are not required in every case.

Re: Gt40 heads

another thing about the p heads is that you need to run a 98 explore spark plug.
