question about 02 sensors

I accidently ripped the wires out from one of my 02 sensors while I was under the car of my '88GT. Will that do anything considering that they are probably the original ones and no good to begin with?
Will that cause the computer to go into another mode?

Re: question about 02 sensors

Yes, it will cause the ecu to stay in OL...

Replace the sensors.

Ok..next question: What's the best way to remove the o2 sensors that are rusted solid to the exhaust pipe? How does a garage do it?

Heat up the O2 bung nut with a torch until it is almost glowing orange. Then quickly put on your O2 socket and it should turn no prob. BECAREFUL with open flame under car. The longer way is to soak the bung every couple hours wit WD40 for about a day then let sit over night. May do the trick but be careful if you have to follow with tourch as WD40 highly flamable!!
