Re: weight reduction?

What are you going after, weight reduction in generally or for a specific kind of racing, like drag racing? Easy stuff to do are to remove the front sway bar (drag race only) and back seats. Harder stuff are aftermarket k-member, control arms, and coil-overs up front. Also, eliminating the AC completely is worth around 50 or more pounds. Out back there's not much you can do for weight reduction but that's not as important as up front.

Last time I looked the stock 94/95 Mustangs had glass hoods, and rear decklid. I lot of $ to pick up maybe 5-8 lbs at best.
On my car I got rid of the A/C and the P/S and front sway bar. With a full QA1 front suspension the car still handles extremely well, even without the front sway bar.

Re: weight reduction?

While your doing the rear seat delete, pull out the rest of the carpet and scrape all the sound deadening material out and tar paper. It is a dirty job, but will save about 45 lbs if you remove it all. The car is alot noiser, though.

I love the QA1 suspension. Plus you can get the front struts rebuilt for about $45.00 each plus shipping if necessary. If I were going to go road racing full time, I would choose the Maximum Motorsports set up, much more heavy duty, but weighs more. For a street strip car or strip only car the QA1 is the way to go. IMHO.
