I want to do a compression test on my 95 gt, but don't know what psi range i should be in. Motor has about 4k on it since rebuild. Does anyone know what the reading was when the was new?
Lot of different things can change the max pressure you will see in your engine. So the test is done to find a cylinder or cylinders that is not as good as the others.
If all of the cylinders are within 10% then no worries. I have seen 5.0's that have only 100 psi cranking and ran like there was no tomorrow. So as long as the low cylinder is within 10% of the highest cylinder, call it good.
