Shorting out when try to start (95 GT)

Not the battery. When insert key, all dash lights come on normal but everything dies when turn key. Get one click and then silence. If I wiggle the red cables coming off the battery that go down by the headers to the starter/tranny area starts right up on next try! Used to have an AODE in it but now T5, but using original AODE wiring, if that makes any difference. Has been running fine since the swap - til now.

Any ideas? How to locate probelem? Or just get a cable kit to replace OEM for just that segment of wirng? If so, where and part #?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a bad connection at the starter terminal.

Make sure the battery terminals are clean and ALL connections are tight.
EVERY vehicle that's come to me with those symptoms have been battery or cable related.
