which performance parts for 96 gt

I just purchased a 96 Mustang GT 2v auto. Had to sell my 62 Galaxie 500xl to pay off some bills. Had a little money left overand bought the gt. looking to slowly build up to start drag racing. What to start with for performance parts, I am on a budget. Like to start with headers, exhaust and go from there. Any or all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Randy

If you're tight on cash for, invest in the suspension first (rear lower control arms and subframes). Both combined are cheaper than headers and way easier to install. Also, think about swapping PI heads on.
