Swapping my 4.6L for a S/C Lightning 5.4L??

Ok, got a line on a very cheap 5.4 L Lightning motor complete with accessories/wiring harness/ecm. I have a 4.6L now and was wondering if the long tube headers I have will swap onto the new motor?? It's a SOHC motor, so going by all I have read about the swap, I'm going to say "Yes" but wanted to make sure 1st........ also, will my stock A/T bolt up as well?? I am going to have it built, just want to make sure it will bolt on.... I have been racing SBC motors for years and this is my 1st Ford, not to mention my 1st EFI motor, so I'm pretty excited!!!

Headers need to be modified since the 5.4 has a taller deck. Trans fits but you need an 8-bolt flywheel for the 5.4.

what year vehicle are you putting the engine into? I think most people have to cut a hole in the hood, but it looks freaking awesome that way anyway. The torque from the lightning motor is insane! Just dont try to take the valve covers off. Have you tried some of the mod motor forums? When I was stupid I was thinking about putting a 5.4 DOHC into my old 97 Cobra when the 4.6 went out and I found tons of info on 5.4 swaps.

The header wont fit the mustang chasis without modifications. The motor will bolt right up except the flexplate bolt pattern is different for the torque converter. YOu have to by and 8 bolt flexplate from ford motorsports, I bought one through summit for like 68 and had it drop shipped from ford for a total of like 88 bucks with 2 day air.

Basically the same as what Bassman said
