Tie-Rod Dust Boots

The shop I took my car for alignment said the tie-rod dust boots can't be replaced unless you replace the whole tie-rod. Somehow I think this is BS. So, can anyone confirm this and if so, are the Energy Suspension pieces a good choice or should I just stick to rubber?
By the way, the reason why I need new boots is that they ripped while I disconnected the tie-rods from the spindle to swap out springs.

Re: Tie-Rod Dust Boots

This is BS...

All you need is some from the "HELP" section, Buy the size to fit your joint and pop them on. They are even good replacements if yours are like Toyota has that are snap-ringed on. THat part don't matter...

Re: Tie-Rod Dust Boots

That's what I figured. Would poly versions be better or should rubber suffice? I just hope I can get them this weekend so I don't drive back to school w/ ripped ones on.
