For all of you who are interested in these DO NOT BUY THEM!!!!! I had to take it to a well respected shop in socal and they almost wouldnt touch it couse they are bbk. read why in bolt ons 2nd page. The driver header interfears with the motor mount. needsd a dent. The passenger rest on the frame. Needs a bend. Now the x pipe needs modification couse the pretty shinny headers do not meet up where the o.e.m. did. Last but not least after all this was fixed the car was started and yes a leak. it sounded like a plane landing. when we looked at it there was a gap that i could put a stack of papers between the header and the engine. After a grind to fix that problem all is good but one simple thing. They sound like CRAP. like a gurgle or something in the header that throughs off the sound of the super 40 flows. And yes i think i still hear a leak. Well i have learned my lesson, stick with hooker let me know what you all think about this post and of other probs.
Hookers leak too (but that's due to the slip fit collector and two-piece design) but I've heard people not having any problems w/ BBK. Maybe you just got a defected product?
you can take your slip fit to a goodshop and have them weld a new flange style on or what ever kind of connector for about 30 bucks. Not to bad considering no leaks. I called my guy and am supposed to bring the car in friday to fix this new leak. it only happens when the engine is under a load but even the wife has noticed a power loss and she drives 5 mph under the posted speed limit and takes a calender to time her ET.
Yeah, I'm planning on doing that when I get the cash to also get a custom fabbed catted h-pipe to go w/ the ball and socket connectors. It's all about when I get the cash for that now.
