Roushcharger Fitment Problem

Can you tell me the difference is in the heads beween 2000 and 2001.
I bought a Roushcharger off Ebay and Roush said there was no way this would work on a 2000 GT Automatic. BUT... they really could not give specifics.
They could not tell me what the difference in Heads is or what could be done to make the unit fit. Any information would be appreciated. One phone rep from Roush said the Roushcharger wouldn't work because they don't have calibration for a tune on a 2000 or automatic. (Not sure if that is an issue). One of their phone reps said I had to convert to a manual(not going to do that).
I guess I am just trying to get some common sense answers.

Re: Roushcharger Fitment Problem

The only difference in heads is in 2000, the engine/heads came from the Windsor plant while in 2001, they started to shift back to Romeo engines/heads. However, the differences in heads only affect you if you are installing cams, valve covers, or a new timing cover (Windsor heads use press on gears, 13 bolt valve covers, and a slightly larger bolt for the timing cover). As for a tune, just go to your local dyno shop to get a tune.

That makes sense to me. Do you know much about the bracketry needed to make the Roushcharger run on a 2000 mustang. I am being told that there was a front relocation bracket
to align the alternator and drive belt to work with the unit.
Unfortunate that Roush is not forthcoming with the info. So I will trust the forums.

That I do not know. This is something that they are refusing to give you the info you need.
