My '96 GT has been sitting for a while with a bad battery cable. I just got out to work on it today and after fixing the problem with a new cable the car won't start. It turns over just fine but won't fire. I suspect the problem has something to do with the fact that when the key is in the "on" position a rapid clicking sound eminates from the right front fender. I also noticed the absence of the usual whirring from the fuel pump at key on. I noticed a small box in the inner fender behind the airbox which seemed to be the source of the clicking. While leaving the key in the "on" position I rapped on it a coupe times with a screw driver and the fan came on. I decided not to probe any further for fear of damaging any electronics that the box may contain. Does anyone know what the box is and whether or not it is the cause of my problem?
