Heads and Cams

Hey I was just curious if anyone had any good sugestions on what the best heads and cams setup on a 2002 gt would be. The input would be much appreciated.

Re: Heads and Cams

It all depends on application. A stage 1 port job for heads is fine for most cases but higher rpms, FI, etc. will change that. Same goes for cams. However, Trick Flow is coming out w/ their 2V heads soon (I believe this month) so I'd wait to see if those are better for you. Again, it all depends on what your goals are.

I can tell you about one combo that's going together. Recently I ordered a 5.0 stroker built on a Teksid aluminum block. The heads that are coming are Patriot Stage 2 with Cushman (VT) Stage 2.5 cams. I'm using the Victor Junior intake with Dragon plenum and 75 mm TB. It's all going into my 2002 GT that I bought new.
I'm over 60 years-old and am calling this car "The Last Hot Rod". I have high hopes for it with a 150 shot of juice.
BTW, Jim Cushman at Cushmanmotorsports.com will talk to you about your set up and is a great guy.

Re: Heads and Cams

I would go with the new Trickflow head that just came out if you want to spend that kind of money. They flow much better out the box than the stage II and III ported heads. I have a few items that you might be interested in when you decide which heads you are going to go with. I was headed in the same direction as you before I sold my GT and bought a Cobra. See link below and hit me back if you are interested, good luck.
