WOO-HOO! order placed for 06 gt today!

Vista blue/stick/black cloth/bullitt(std) wheels/leather steering wheel only option.
Production starts Aug 8th for the 06's, as ordering only started a week ago, hopefully wont take long to get built.

How does the vista blue compare to the sonic blue offered for the '05? I have an '05 sonic blue gt and heard that the vista blue was replacing the sonic blue. P.S. if you want a great set of mufflers get the hooker aerochambers. I put them on last week and they are great. Very deep. Not too loud either. http://www.holley.com/index.asp?division=Hooker

heres the only picture Ive ever seen of the Vista Blue- havent even found a dealer brochure yet and I got one on order...

http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/timeline/05/06/

wish it was 'acapulco blue'...was wanting to get a sonic blue 05, but with all the bulls*** of 05 gt deliveries, didnt stand a chance. the vista is several shades lighter than sonic for sure/without any purplish tint, but a bit darker than the old acapulco blue(my favorite shade). I cant wait...hoping they assign a VIN in this thursdays pulls- if so, might see it by end of sept? feel like a kid before Christmas

PS- any problems/concerns/comments on your 05?

I have not had any problems with my car thus far. I drive it about 100 round trip miles every day to and from work. Car gets a lot of looks and is a blast to drive. You will love it.

WOO-HOO! order placed for 06 gt today!

Just ordered my 06 Mustang 08-17. I orderd the Tungsten grey though. Went with the 18" polished GT style rims and the Roush Stripes silver. I can't wait to throw some Flowmasters on it!

Too bad my wait is anywhere from 9 weeks to 4 months. Pure torture till then...

at the rate mines going(nowhere- still no vin) mine might be out there too...regarding flowmasters- I just talked to a guy at the Summit Racing Mustang show last week- had met him couple months ago, asked if any mods yet, etc...long story short, he put flowmasters on for about a week, said at highway speeds it 'droned' really bad- so he put stockers back on... if your set on doing yours, let me know/gimme email I'll pass it on to him- seen him at local cruise spot often. maybe he can give you a deal on almost new set- I have no idea what they even cost. Hope you get your GT delivered on time...also hope to get "A time" or some idea on when to expect mine. if you want to rush yours- look over at blueovalforums.com, and see 2006 mustang order thread- read about/PM 'carlosM' in florida- he can get you one in 8-10 wks or less(some 5 wks!) at msrp- even accepts xplan if you get a PIN. lot of guys buying thru him, hes got MEGA mustang allocations, and is always first in line- kinda pisses me off that my sister in laws 'little dealer' is probably getting shoved back because of this- kinda like 'he can get 'YOU' 'MY' gt in 8 weeks..." and I'll get mine after, after, after...

the whole 'allocation' thing is BS to me- a sale ought to be a sale- ford ought to take customers orders in the order they are recieved. Sadly though the Ford 'customer' aint the customer- instead the 'dealer' is the 'customer'- the cars he sells are his problem. Sux.

its a wonder smaller dealers can survive at all these days- like David and Goliath, but Goliath gets first dibs on the slingshot...and second dibs too if david asks for it...

As far as exhausts, I kinda like the stock GT sound- not too sharp, nice mellow rumble...but Ive always liked 'quiet' rumble- favorite was '69 429 (hi compression) all stock, iron manifolds 2" 'hush thrush' mufflers...I'll never forget the day I put the mufflers on (without tailpipes) and took it for a drive- still gives me a headache to think about that sound...wasnt loud outside but pressure in your eardrums inside the car was torture...with tailpipes it was sweet. That thing regularly got 17mpg if you kept your foot out of it too. stomping on it required hi octane too.

my dodge pickup used to sound pretty good too- 396 BBC with pair of big lincoln mufflers and glasspack resonators- still sounded healthy when stomped, but quiet as a mouse normally- drove it everyday for 10 yrs, got decent mileage - often like 15-18 after warmup- sucked in cold weather though.(9:1/very mild towing cam/q-jet/iron manifolds/2" pipes)

WOO-HOO! order placed for 06 gt today!

this is my first post~
ive had my 05 gt for 2 months now and i love it. i only had one problem with the gas tank but was quickly fixed; let me know if you have any problems regarding that.
im looking for a muffler, and im leaning away from flowmasters and more toward corsa. they are about 300$ more, but it might be worth it. any ideas?
one more question. does anyone have window louvers? i was wondering if they make a big blind spot.

thanks!

I havent seen a set of louvers(I assume youre talking rear 'slats'- not side windows?) that I really like yet, if the car ever shows up I'll likely try to make up a set...my 69 has them and although I havent driven it in over 20 years now, I dont recall that HUGE blindspot getting any bigger after adding the louvers. The 69 rears are stamped at the corners, each piece is curved, the top piece is actually formed as a three sided box with radiused corners...looks a lot more correct than the plastic or bent tin ones Ive seen out there...
As far as the side windows, I still hope to get mine filled in to give more of a 69-ish look- like this:
