Lots of 05 cars running around with blowers on them. As long as the boost level isn't too crazy, and the tuning is done right, you should be fine.

cheers

You need to talk to another shop. The 05 has been just fine with a blower. You'll have no problem with 6-8lbs of boost and a proper tune.

just to expand a bit, do not get greedy once you get that 6-8lbs of boost! the rods on the 4.6 3V motor are the "fuse" and tend to bust once you are pushing over 450 to the wheels.

Ive heard 4.6 uses 'powdered metal' rods- guess theyre pretty strong, but sounds a bit brittle to me...I'd heard 400 was safe limit ?

LATE YESTERDAY I CONTACTED THE MUSTANG SPEED SHOP THAT I HAD TALKED TO BEFORE AND HE ELABORATED. HE SAID 2 MUSTANGS HAD GONE UP IN SMOKE WHILE ON HIS DYNO. BOTH AT 400 FOOT LBS. HE SAID THAT HE KNOWS OF A COUPLE OTHERS THAT BROKE ON THE STREET. SEEMS THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM LEANS OUT AT HIGHER RPM. I THINK HE IS ON THE UP AND UP BECAUSE HE COULD HAVE SOLD ME A BLOWER EASILY. SOOOOO, JUST A WORD TO THE WISE.....BE CAREFUL. I THINK I WILL STICK TO PULLEYS, CAI, HEADERS, MAS METER AND A THROTTLE BODY

DaSilva Racing here in Toronto has done a bunch of 05 cars with Paxtons and Vortechs. Only one has had an engine problem, that customer was just absolutely brutal on the car. Another one has been going high 11s at the track all summer with gears and drag radials, no issues. Like I said, it's all about having a safe tune, that doesn't lean out anywhere in the rpm range.

cheers
