S-197 Tank Fill fix
I hope it keeps working for you- sorry but I dont think this is the only culprit only because mine refused to fill the initial 2 fillups- actually puked gas all over the place after the nozzle clicked off at full- obviously vent issue, but that filter would not be clogged when new...
the problem seems to appear more often during cold weather- less vapor when colder, so that seems odd to me...anyway, if mine does it again this winter, I'm gonna try something: a piece of 1/4 OD fuelproof (nylon?) tubing, heated/bent with a 180 hook on one end, cut to length needed just to protrude into tank, push in/hook at filler restrictor. I think allowing a 'open path' back to the top of the fill tube will allow enough vapor out of at least that side of the saddlebag tank to at least help dramatically- if not prevent the vapor buildup all together.
thanks for the pics of that canister- I was tempted to drop mine just to see what the hell it was- it appears to be the ONLY connection between tank halves- wonder if its supposed to transfer fuel from one side to the other???but it cant do by gravity as all lines are uphill...still cant see how fuel pump on one side sucks from the other side...
hope that did fix your problem!
