Saleen exhaust without mufflers?

I am thinking about running my Saleen exhaust without the mufflers. This particular set up for a 2006 runs into the muffler and then goes out an outlet on each side which feeds into the exhaust tips which exit the middle of the rear facia. It seems this system would be very restrictive. The exhaust exits out the mufflers and the tips in the back. I was wondering if anyone had ever tried running the exhaust on this type system straight through and if so how loud was it and was there any gain or loss in power? I saw an article on another forum where they had tested many differnet exhaust combos and also had tested without mufflers on the car. Amazingly, the car without mufflers did not produce as much torque as some of the cars with mufflers. But this does not make sense, otherwise, what would be the purpose of running open headers? If you have tried running a 2005-07 Mustang without the mufflers, please let me know how it came out.
The noise level is no problem for me.

Thanks, FOMOCORO (the name says it all)
