We All Got A Good Deal On Our '05-'07 Mustangs
I can only speak for myself but I believe every owner of every '05-'07 Mustang got a good deal on thier purchase when you consider what the older models are bringing.
Most people bought the GT's for $30,000.00 or less. The guys buying the Steedas,Roushs & others probably spent in the range of $45,000.00 & the guys buying the GT 500's probably spent $55,000.00 or less.
Now take a look at this old GT 350 thats not a perfect car & the for sale sign said $75,000.00 Firm.
Last month I drove my '07 on a 1200 mi. round trip to Biloxi,Miss. I got 25.2 mpg. The car was very comfortable and I wasn't worn out when I got home.
At every gas station & restarant I stopped at the car was a shoe piece-everybody wanted to look at it.Even at the rest stops people were asking questions about it walking around it.
Now,I could have spent $75,000.00 for the old GT and not gotten the gas mileage, comfort or attention the new GT afforded.
It's just my opinion but I beleive the new Mustang is a great deal for anyone looking for comfort, mileage, dependability & 300 hp stock.

Well said, I really enjoy may 06 GT. I like the older cars, but for a daily driver, the new mustangs are a good deal for the price. My 95 GT is still going strong with over 160,000 miles.

cpike: I noticed on your signature that you undoubtably favor convertibles.I've had a few myself.

Re: We All Got A Good Deal On Our '05-'07 Mustangs
I paid 26 for my 06 gt stick(not much more than our last minivan) and cannot say enough good things about this car...25 mpg, 13.78@103 best to date at the strip, best brakes Ive ever had, fits like a glove...
Only things that would be nicer would be another 100 ft-lb off idle, and a real throttle- the drive-by-wire thing works great for traction control, but feels a little 'disconnected' at times- like the way the rpm hangs at 2k when you lift(only at certain temps will it drop immediately, and it burbles/cackles/backfires- love that sound!)

Calspec-
if you have a coupe, check out silverhorseracing.com's rear louvers...I really think they look like they came from the factory, as looks wise the quarter glass never seemed quite right to me...I really like the way they fit, and can still see out almost as good as the glass...

Re: We All Got A Good Deal On Our '05-'07 Mustangs
heres a pic of mine(in SHR customer cars section)...think these were the second or third set ever installed...
anyone considering a set: just be CERTAIN to buy the 3m adhesion promoter- trust me... mine came loose 4 months after I installed them, so while they were out, I thought I'd buff out the paint(painted myself- what a pain) anyway promptly rubbed thru an edge...no time to go thru repainting again, so 300 bucks for a prepainted set(plus adhesion promoter) and back in business...

something else I think SHR really got right: check out your AC condenser next time you wash the car...got any dents yet? I bet you do...
they are soon to release these matching inserts that should at least minimize stone damage, and look good too:
