Cool 2005+ tudes

welp, i claimed i'd be active here, even if i end up talking to myself...

so here we go...

having an S197 mustang (2005-2009), has anyone encountered negative treatment by any of the older car owners out there ?

i'll have to say that so far, i've gotten nothing but compliments and all of them have waved back when on the road. the only time anything negative happened was from a fellow S197 owner, (he just turned his head and ignored me when i waved) which leads me to believe it's more of a "type" of person than the car they drive kinda thing. i mean, i've even had (dare i say it here) a corvette owner stare at my baby and wave back at me..

maybe it's a mind-set.. maybe these "non-friendly" types aren't really car-guys.. maybe they're just in it for the "coolness" or current flavor of the month? i don't know.

lets hear your thoughts on it...

I get crap from Box Body guys....
But I hand out enough to deserve plenty back.
I am WAY ahead of that little game.
As far as other S197 guys the Mouse Stangs (V-6) tend to ignore the GT guys. But overall I get positive responses from most.

lol Box body.. my wife actually likes them as much as she likes my S197, and constantly gives me crap about it.. she's stuck in the 80s though.. i tell her to just go out and buy some zipper-pants, she'll be okay..

but i completely understand dishing it out and deserving it... i have a friend who has a '72 sprint vert, can't even spin the tires... he gets SOO frustrated... i think we're gonna get him some rear end gears... but i never let up at poking fun at him..

that's a new one on me... mouse stangs.. hilarious.. but i guess with not much competition (no camaros or firebirds) we gotta drop the throttle on somebody..

i guess even i have something against other GTs.. first thing i ask is, is it stock..

(off topic - but i wanted to ask you if you knew) my pinion isn't "grease pencil" marked with a MHD shim offset number and it is a FRPP pinion.. does that nec. mean that it's at 0 dimension and i use a .030" shim ? is there someway to check it that you know of?

-Robb
-Lettin' the Rough Side drag...

If the pinion was not marked that means .030.
As mentioned once the backlash is adjusted, the pattern will tell you for sure if the pinion depth was correct.
The pattern is the final determining factor in all the adjustments.

lol.. yeah, i'm guessing there's a glitch in the forum software, i wrote the webadmin about it.. i think thats what is screwing up my not being able to use the auto-sig. but i told them it wasn't showing my post count either.. hopefully it gets fixed soon.

yeah.. i'm not sure some of them would know muscle if it ran over them and left tire marks on their forheads..
