Keyless Entry Keypad in Gas Door

Welp, i finally got it installed. The Ford OEM remote Keyless entry Keypad came with a black cover, and a primer cover, so i painted the primered one Dark Candy Apple Red (JV) 4 coats of color and 6 coats of clearcoat to match my baby, and finally installed it this morning.

man, that thing looks sweet, i may just have to drive around with my Gas Door open..

That is mas cool. I'd like to do something similar to my '69. What's involved with the one you did? Can it be adapted to aftermarket keyless systems?

thanks, it may seem over the top, but hey, why do we mod anything..

well, this specific one, it says in the manual that it only works with 05 and up mustangs, i don't know why though. this one is remote, it has no external wires, it acts just like a key-fob remote open.. and you just trip your key into run 8 times to re-program it to your vechicle.

heck when i first got it, i stood inside the door in my house and punched the numbers and it worked.. i laughed and thought, hey, i'll just keep the keypad in my pocket!

i have no idea if it works with aftermarket systems ? sorry.. my only guess would be that if it's a programmable aftermarket, that possibly it might work? i do know they make "hard-wired" keypads, that might be possible to install, and wire up ? i really don't know. good luck, and man if you do get that on your 69, i'd love to see the pics of it.

Re: Keyless Entry Keypad in Gas Door

Couple questions.
Is it a Plug and Play item (other than the programming)?
Is the keypad a radio operated thing (like a remote doorbell)?
Is there a battery in the keypad?
I see they moved that damn lanyard for the cap. Or did you move it?
Does it work with the active anti-theft system?

Looks Great!!!
Handy too.

can be used on 2005 and up Ford, Mercury, Lincoln with keyless remote entry system.
yes, plug & play - cept programming only.. comes with a card with the preset code # (which you can change if you like)
yes, it's RF
yes, batteries in the keypad (which i JUST read are not replaceable.. oh great.. ) it actually warns you and flashes and lock cycles when the battery is low and per the manual - when this happens it's time to REPLACE it.. sheesh.. i mean.. the bat. oughta last a while.. but that's pathetic..
lol.. yes, Ford moved the lanyard... i didn't
and yes it works with the active anti theft system.

thanks.. and yeah, i've already used it 2 or 3 times..
