FS:early 70's 460 & 1972 400 from 1972 Gran Torino Sport
Ford 460 V8.
Came out of a wrecked '70's 2wd F series, had low miles. Was put into a early 60's f100, not driven much, out for a drive, and lost oil pressure with no warning last summer.
He thought it was a cam bearing, but we never bothered to tear into it as we had a mark5 460 we swapped in.
460 is a 100% stock engine, I do not know if it has ever been opened up aside from my step dad swapping an aftermarket 4 barrel intake on it. Front cover was taken off for his water pump. I think the cover off the other engine is there, but I have not looked.
I don't know what year-I was told it was an early 460.
I was saving for my 4x4 as a build up, but it's been sitting out back under a tarp tent to try to keep the thing out of the weather.
Also-
I have a 400 from a 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport I parted out some time ago.
I kept this one around also as a spare for my 4x4, but I am at the point where I have decided to just clean stuff up some.
I pulled it from a '72 Torino that ran and drove before being parked at a tow lot according to the owner. Car sat 12 years. I could not hand turn the engine over, and I have not bothered to crack it open to check it. I bought the car for the roll pans, bumpers {both of which the guy messed up moving the car} and a few other bits, and decided to save the drivetrain.
If need be, I can probably tear down for pictures some time soon.
If you want ID numbers, tell me where on the 460, and I will get some pictures.
Make offer.
Located in Nebraska.
Willing to take trades {I am looking for 351c blow proof 4 speed bell house and a good flywheel, etc.}
