Re: 1941 ford flat head motor for sale

depends if its cracked all the way thru the water jacket-- if the crack is just on the outside of the block -it can be welded with high nickel rod- and a lot of heat to warm the block---

you can buy new blocks -- they were sent to france during the 2nd world war-- they been in storage ever since--

to many guys are takeing running flat heads out and putting overhead mkotors into cars-- they just throw the flatheads away-- -

gary- id try for a later year block- one with the removebal distribitor-- that engine he has -has the beehive distribitor -- sits right behing the fan in the center of the block-- its almost impossibal to change the points--

please dont tell users to go find a different motor unless you know what that user is exactly looking for, you are right about the crack though but just let him decide if this is something he would purchase please dont convince other people to not by something unless you know what they are selling is a hoaks or not what is put on the parts listings again let that man decide NOT YOU thanks joe

Re: 1941 ford flat head motor for sale

All of the other parts would be good, but the block, IMHO, is scrap. It sounds like a great deal if you want to build a flat head but are having a hard time deciding on what parts to get but already have a block picked out.

SHelby, this site you've ventured onto is like no other in the world.

You will not get flamed here unless you bitch about ******* e-bay sellers, or ask stupid questions about why you can't spin a Windsor to 8,000 rpm's or why not roll out of the burn out...
