Big spline toploader with doug nash pro shift gears
I've got a toploader with big spline input shaft and all doug nash internal parts. The gears and sliders are doug nash pro shift. The trans is 24" overall and will fit all mushtangs, cougars, comets, falcons and possibly others. I'm trying to get an idea if there's any interest in this trans and how much I could get for it. I have a price idea in my head but I'm not sure if it's inline so I'm asking. This trans doesn't have but a hand full of runs on it and was in a 9 second car for a very short time while the guy was waiting for his jerico trans to come in hence only the few runs on it. It's been sitting ever since. I also have a Mr. Gasket vertical gate shifter that could go with it if the price is right.

Re: Big spline toploader with doug nash pro shift gears
The case tag says HEH BW and the tailshaft housing casting # is C7OR. I believe the case is from a 66 mustang 289(at least that's what I was told) which someone retrofitted with the big spline and all the Doug Nash parts. The input shaft actually has some numbers engraved on it 40-40278, whatever that means. Not sure if it's a doug Nash number?

With those Nash parts in it, it would not be much of a street driver tranny, would it?
Price?
Thanks!

Re: Big spline toploader with doug nash pro shift gears
Okie, you are right, it is nearly useless on the street
I had a Nash Pro-shift kit behind my 427 for a while, and you cant double clutch, you cant ease it in, nothing. You JAM each gear
Now, full throttle, no clutch, it works just fine, pull it HARD and it shifts, but to be streetable you'd need to replace the synchros, sliders and input shaft
Falkinman, I'd search around Racingjunk .com and see if something similar pops up. Look for a Toploader with a Liberty gearset, its a similar setup and see how its priced
