i didn't understand this post till i saw were it was located. i dont' own a ranchero, but it would annoy the **** out of me. like if someone said "hey nice camero" to my 65 mustang fastback :-/

I've also heard hey, nice El Rancho....excuse me? that is so wrong.... but hey I just remind myself there are ignorant people in the world and its not their fault they don't know any better.

What gets me, is when they know that Ranchero is Ford, then they explain to their friends that it's the Ford version of the el camino, then I explain to them that Ranchero was produced two years before the el camino (at least in the USA), so actually the el camino was chevy's version of the Ranchero.

"stupity should be painful" hehehe now those idiots didn't realize either that Dodge made a Ute in 56... did ya'll know that... I do have a picture if you want to see it... but it is a Dodge....
