Just got a Ranchero! ...well..part of one anyway.

I've always wanted a 57 ranchero, and the other day a friend of mine offered to trade the one he had to me for some work on his 47 ford. I know what your thinking... thats going to need alot of help! Well yea, your right, but being I build cars for a living; I'm up to the challenge.

The bad...floors are gone, and there is a...oh, part or two missing.
The good...comes with a set of chrome reverse wheels.

As you can see I need a few parts, so if there is someone in the Dallas/Fort worth area that has parts.......ugh...please let me know.

Let me know what you think, AND BE NICE!!!

Not a bad starting point, especially if you build cars for a living. At least you can see all that has to be done, many people buy one that looks nice but under the new paint and interior they find that they end up having to do the same amount of work that you face, but had to pay much more up front before finding out it need that much work. If you don't mind having the parts ship try calling this place in California. They might have some of the parts you need U&I Auto.909 888 6841

There are two of them in Apache Salvage yard in Mansfield right off of 287 business. I believe thay may have the parts your looking for. Their phone number is 817 478-5401. It about a 40 minute drive from Ennis.

Well, I say better late than never...looks like she needs work, but it's a nice looker, clean her up, fresh paint, and a set of steelies, along with the drivetrain out of a newer crown vic with a 4.6L with the karkraft carb conversion to 8 webbers...I like the reverse hinged hood.

I'd remove your glass, trim, and bed access panels, and send it to a media blasting service that can remove all that rust. then you'll know how far the damage goes. I'm thinking your rusted floors are typical for that year; and are probably available from Dearborn Classics, or one of the 50's Fairlane suppliers. That's an amazingly straight grille! Time to subscribe to Hemmings. JD

thought I would throw a few pics of it up now that I got it to the shop. The wheels have alreday been moved around, but whites w/chrome reverses is how it will be.

Re: Just got a Ranchero! ...well..part of one anyway.

I went by Apache today, and the rancheros they have are 59's. So nothing I can use, but I thought it was very strange that they had about 15 59 fords. I 've never seen so many 59's in one place.

Very strange indeed.
