64 ranchero brake conversion

Hey All,

having the brakes updated on the ranchero, but running into a few problems. The front bolt on disk conversion kit I got from Dearborn didn't come with any dust shields/backing plates. I was trying to find some from a falcon or mustang from a similar year but no luck. Also trying to do power brakes, but the master cylinder and booster is just a bit too big to fit under the front cross member. I've seen some different versions of this cross member support in various vehicles. Some are welded in like mine, some bolt in and some are just like a piece of tubing. Anyway, looking to replace mine with something that would give me a little more room to play with. Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Bert

you would have come out cheaper with a granada disk set up from a junkyard with manual dual resivor master cylinder . I for one don't think you need power brakes on a falcon ,just manual disk work fine. JD.

yeah, what's done is done. all the parts are purchased, so now I just need a few leads on a few more parts to make it work. mainly the disk dust shields and front engine compartment cross member.

The New Millennium.... Falcon!

This site may interest you.

Also I wouldn't even bother with dust shields personally.

Shock Tower Braces-TCP

Here are the tubular shocktower braces but they are spendy...
