Re: The question of the day.....

I have a couple ford trucks that I have yet to finish. A 40 with a SBC and a 39 with a 53 Merc flattie.

I gave my 11 year old grandson the 54 F100 cab and 'Y' block that I picked up a couple years ago. He wants to build a hot rod out of it and I have been teaching him the basics and letting him turn the wrenches on a lot of the easier stuff so he can learn to enjoy the "hobby" the way I do.

I've always been a chevy guy but right now I have 7 Fords and 2 chevies in the family collection. I don't know how that happened. Only one of the Fords is not Ford powered, all though that one might change in the near future if I finish the 302 rebuild.

I am just learning Ford small blocks and I find my self saying why didn't chevy do some things the way Ford did, but then when I'm working on the Ford I say why didn't they do some things the way chevy did.

I'm not one to bash any of the other makes, but I come to this site to find out about Fords and to see what other Ford Guys are doing.

So I say keep it ALL FORD RODS all the way.

Re: The question of the day.....

well the name of the forum is street rod forum--

i guess that lets my 38 pontiac coupe with a 350 chevy engin - olds rear end - nova front clip- all done by me -- in cludeing channeling the body with a rake -and all new floors

dosent seem to bother my custom 66 galaxie --

im sure you guys go to a car show and dont look at any of the street rods that are powered by something other than a ford engin-

best looking street rod engin is a nail head buick--

Hmmmm. The flathead owners may disagree but the nailhead certainly is cool, especially with a sixpack log manifold and finned covers and let's not forget the Buick brake drums!

Re: The question of the day.....

Would my '54 Ford sedan with a 351W be considered a street rod? It's not a custom nor is it a muscle car

Re: The question of the day.....

i think Y-block and FE powered rods are the coolest but not taking anything away from the purity of a flattie.
