'27 Track T Paint and Assembly pics:

This is a 1927 Ford Track T that I started building in February. It will utilize a Speedway motors fiberglass body. It will be powered by a 302 Ford engine backed by a Toploader 3 speed and an 8" Ford rear end. The chassis is basically mild steel rectangular and round tubing that I built. The front end will have a "suicide" spring perch with a 1937 Ford "I" beam axle, 1939 Ford spindles, Model "A" split wishbone, and 1956 F-100 drum brakes. I hope to have the car running in a few weeks.

I blasted the chassis, and my dad did the honors of spraying the Ford Blue urethane.

Saw it on the HAMB! Looks great. Nice to see blue, as red has been done to death. Love the lightening holes on the back plates!

Re: '27 Track T Paint and Assembly pics:

Got the rear end installed. It's an 8" out of a '75 Maverick with 2.79's. I also managed to install the brake lines, adjust the brakes and fill the rear with oil.

The Dodge Dart steering box, Howe clutch M/C, and '68 Mustang M/C are all installed. I also installed the clutch and brake pedals.

The radiator and nose mount is installed. The radiator is a '65 Mustang unit. The nose will D'zus in place. The car will sit 3 inches lower than the picture.

The car is now a roller. The rear wheels are mid 70's Chrysler Cordoba's turned around backwards. They look like old Halibrands.

Speaking of wheels, this is the swap meet steering wheel I am going to use.

Re: '27 Track T Paint and Assembly pics:

Been at it pretty much every day for 3 weeks, here is some of the progress:
The dash is a simple aluminum plate with only the basics.

I used a Ford 40 amp generator because it looked more appropriate.

The headlights are Guides off a White firetruck.

The headers are Schoenfelds that are made for an IMCA modified, but work quite well here. The valve covers are from an '85 Mustang, but they look as traditional as the Corvette covers the Chevy guys use.

The coolant recovery tank is a 12" long piece of 2" copper tubing with a couple of core plugs silver soldered on.

The fuel pump is from a '64 Fairlane with a 260 V-8. It has the integral fuel filter that really simplifies the fuel system.

The distributor is an N.O.S. Mallory dual point bought off the 'Bay for $20.00. The intake is an old Edelbrock F4B, and the carb is an Autolite 2100. Yes the fuel line is copper, and it will be just fine.

Re: '27 Track T Paint and Assembly pics:

Looks awesome!!

At one time I'd planned on building a Track T out of a 1917 body that I had.. then I changed my mind & was gonna build a regular T Bucket but with the engine/transaxle in the bed.. and finally I got rid of it to a friend who will probably get around to it before I would have.

Re: '27 Track T Paint and Assembly pics:

Got the car running, and I am in the process of finishing it up.Here is some of the latest progress:
The body is back on:

Got the exhaust done:

Model A horn bolted on:

Cal Custom air cleaner scoop installed:

A thermostatically controlled choke doesn't hurt, it works like a charm:

The gas pedal and horn button. The gas pedal "spoon" is a real spoon. All three pedals pivot on the same bolt with nylon bushings.

Most of the interior is installed:

Fuel line and oil pressure lines connect at this bulkhead:

The engine has to have a good ground:

The spring/wishbone connection:

All the brake lines connect at bulkhead fittings:

The tranny crossmember:

The starter is a late model PMGR unit:

Exhaust bracket, I tried to drill as many items as I could:

The panhard bar is adjustable at both ends:

Pitman arm:

Undercarriage:

The Hollywood Wheel Disc 15" x 5" front wheels were painted white:
