Volve Hotrod.

In 1927 Volvo unveiled their first car, the ÖV4 affectionally called Jakob.
Now Swedish Hot Rod builder Caresto has built a modern day Jakob to celebrate the original.
It uses the gearbox out of the 960 and a 2.5litre turbo inline 5 running on E85 and making 256hp.
Best looking Volvo in a long time.

For those who can read Swedish.....Volvo Jakob: Heißer Rentner Auto + Produkte bei auto motor und sport

Re: Volve Hotrod.

It was built for Volvo's 80th anniversary celebrations.

Here is an article in english: Motor Authority » Volvo’s Jakob hot rod

There are a lot of nice details:
Hidden rack and pinion steering inside the round tube front axle.
Hidden suspension, front and rear.
Rim mounted disc brakes, like the Buell motorcycles.

The rear end is a Ford 9 inch with a cover.

As a former Volvo employee it is nice to see that the Ford owner ship has brought some Hot Rodding to Volvo.

Re: Volve Hotrod.

IMO the tires have to go and less spokes on the wheel. But the rest of
the car, DECENT!
