rackn'pinion steering on '29 front suspention

I have a home built frame with a '29 ford straight axle and buggy spring. I want to install a '95 dodge neon rack 'n pinion steering setup. The old mechanical steering is junk. The r&p lines up with the spindle brackets ok. What do I need to do to accomplish this?
thanks, hotrod101

Sound like you want to use parts you have laying around.
If the car is fenderless I myself would not go that route.
Why are you switching to a rack rather then rebuilding the existing parts?

The car is completely "scratch built" The '29 front end is a "field find". I wanted the early look with an easy controled steering assembly.

You will not get that with a rack and pinion.
This may drive easy but it is not the classic look.

I don't have one but I always thought they were light up front and the steering was only in need of a better steering box?

Classic suspension:

I have done this!
First and formost it has to be mounted to the axel
Second you have to use Borgenson (sp) joints to hook up the steering.
It will work fine but looks like crap.

Because I am an absolute novice about hotrod building. I am retired now but always wanted a hotrod (cool and different)! What I have is a homemade frame, constructed from 2x4 steel supports(used for holding shipping loads of material in trailers. Also a '57 chevy rear axelhousing mounted in place with coil springs. Also, a 350 chev. transmission mounted to a 305ci chevy motor. The front suspension is a '29 ford model A (I was told). It has no body at all yet. I was told the old mechanical steering was too sloppy to use. A power rack n' pinion would be a nice choice, I was told.
