Quality Stroker kits

Can someone list stroker kits in order of quality? I see that some are made in China, some in the USA. I only want to do this once. I'm interested in a 331 kit. Do some manufacturers has kits made in China and the US? How do you know which is which?

I hope someone pipes up soon. Like you, I'm looking at Windsor stroker kits & have found several on e-bay. Most manufactured by 'Hawk Racing'. I can't find anything on the internet about hawk racing. like you, I want to pay a fair price for quality parts & don't want to buy a stroker crank from anyplace that still uses ricshaws & doesn't know what a crank is. I've been looking real close at the CHP kits & am so far impressed with the company. I've talked to a couple of folks at CHP & they seem to know their stuff (course, I'm easily fooled at this point). Keep me posted on what you learn.

They're all made in china...even my scat (I was surprised) Call Ford performance Solutions...they're a good company, and VERY HONEST. they build pro street, pro stock 50,000 dollar motors. Call them, and ask for Troy--he's the owner, and was very helpful....tell him Jeff Given refered you Their prices were VERY reasonable to boot!

I hear plenty of great feedback on the Eagle stroker kits, that's what i would go with if i got one for my stang, that's also all my local machine shop carries for ford block motors and he says he builds plenty of reliable Eagle 347 stroker kits that put out up to 475 hp. that's alot of power, and this guy(the owner) really knows what he's talking about, i talked to the owner and he seems to love that setup, he also carries AFR heads, which is pretty much top of line, he also carries edelbrock heads, the other good company i heard of is summit racing, they are very respected company, can't tell you where any of this stuff is made tho....if i'm correct i remember reading off Trick Flow's website that they built 3 different Ford stroker motors, one was a stroked 302, 351 stroked, and the big 460 with a stroker crank, if i remember right that was Trick Flow's website, they said Summit Racing made a great crank for a decent price, that's about all i know on strokers,

Josh

I am rebuilding a 351W and purchased the Eagle 408 stroker kit which included JE forged aluminum dished piston, h-beam connecting rods along with the rings and bearings (Clevite). Excellent kit. Due to the larger rotating assembly some notching of the cylinder heads was required. I also went with the AFR 205cc race ready heads and the Edelbrock Air-Gap which is a dual plane since I plan on running this on the street. I went with the CompCam Extreme Energy 282 hydraulic roller cam and a Holley 750cfm double pumper. It should be a good set up and the machine shop also agreed with my configuration.

When pricing your kit and heads make sure you know exactly what they contain because I have seen heads cheaper but not completely assembled. JD's Performance website has decent prices. Summit Racing is another good source and they can get all kinds of products usually very quickly.
