Need some opinions
Ok, i got a 302 stock motor in a 69 stang, i've been restoring the car and i'm getting closer and closer to gettin into that motor, recently the car started smokin pretty bad on startup, it's got 80,000 origional miles on it, and i can tell this motor has never been opened before, some old lady had it before me, everything is bone stock except the exhaust i just put on it, i bought some dual for it from my neighbor, he has a '67 stang his wife made him take off his exhaust cuz they are OLD and she didn't like it, but the exhaust is dual H-pipe all the way back with 2 1/4" tubing i think
My question is when i do decide to open up the motor and do a good top end job on it, new gaskets everywere etc. would it be a good idea to drop in a 347 eagle stroker setup, i would have to leave the stock heads and 2 barrel intake on it for a lil while due to funding, and headers would also be stock, but my biggest question is would the motor run reliably for at least a few months with a stroker and all stock setup, or would it be sucking way too much and run way to lean no matter how i tuned the stock 2 barrel on the thing, i would have the machine shop do all the necessary cleaning and boring etc. for the stroker, but could it work and be reliable and still pass emmisions with a stroker in a stock setup motor, gimme some feedback on it, thanks in advance,
Josh
