I've heard nothing but bad things about the cranks (hawks racing) checkout www.dallasexports.com they have a kit complete with balancer and flexplate and completely balanced for 1295.00, if you add the balancer and flexplate and balancing to the TMD kit its pretty good deal, and for 200 more you can get a scat crank.

My combo

Eagle H beams, stock length
Kb pistons (great big notch holds 6.4 cc lots of growth) (302)
I run a comp cams 240-244 with .540-.544
Victor Jr.
185 cc AFR
MSD
HVH super sucker
750 Holey Dbl pumper
Scat crank
Mac windage tray
Royal Purple

My compression is kinda high 12.5:1 I run pump gas, and meet current emmissions with a dbl pumper, I have cats and a smog pump.

My piston valve clearance was .300 and .270 int/ex. lots of room for growth in both lift and duration. The car idles smooth but at 1250 rpms. My piston notch would have accomidated 2.10 valves I think mine are 2.02 or 2.05 can't remember getting old..

It pumps out 430 horse at flywheel and 598 foot pounds of torque. It has shredded two c-4's and one mini spool I have run over 120 @ 11.2 and do not run nitrous or transbrake, all throttle and no helpers.

the HP figures seem low compared to the torque, sure thats not 530hp ? A stock frpp 392 with a smaller cam, less compression, way smaller heads makes 460hp at the flywheel, now if those were rear wheel#'s that makes more sense

I was wondering about that. Seen an article with less compression and 282hr made 517 flywheel. I did figure 430hp and 3100lb car would run 11.2 with perfect conditions so 50-60 more flywheel hp sounded bout right??

that maybe should be 530 hp and 498 ft lb instead of 430 hp and 598 ft lb?
