advice for my 347 stroker. educated posts only

Having been doing imports for the most part of my so far, 4 year career, I have unconfirmed answers relating to my 347 stroker. Got my forged pistons, 10.2:1@62CC. Have a dilema that needs to be solved ASAP. I have to choose between getting, "3D" H-beam 4340 rods & a cast steel crank........or, 5140 I-beam rods and a 4340 forged steel crank. Dont have the $$$ for both. Pistons were over $700 (notice I dont use cheap hyperexploding pistons for $250). Could someone out there tell me which one I should give up on quality, crank or rods? Initially I thought, and was told by one other person, that I should go with the 3D's and settle for a cast steel crank(eagle). Thanks,
Mike

What kind of power are you trying to make? Will it be forced induction (turbo, supercharger, nitrous), or will it just be high RPM natarual aspiration??
This is a tricky situation because both the crank an the rods take tremendous abuse, but having to choose one over the other, I'd say go with the better rods since they move in 2 different directions at once, while the crank is only in one direction. Why not save up the extra few bucks to have the better of them two parts together??

Thanks for the reply and the opinion but although I somewhat agree with that, for what mechanical, performance or driving quality reasons would I choose one or the other. The car is being built to remain N/A with NO intentions of nitrous use either. I am building this car for my Fathers 60th (77 Mustang II coupe, 91 5.0 EFI-347) and my uncle (boss too) gave me a credit account to build the car on. I went too much on sound and interior and ran out of money before I even got the heads, and rotating Assem. Extra $100 for you but an extra 150+s/h for me, and im poor after the AFR heads lol. the price difference between a cast crank and forged, for me, is about 120us. price diff. between H-beams and I beams is about the same (+10-20). Has anyone used H or I beams before? anyone used both ever? Obviously a forged steel crank would be wiser but has anyone tried any of the cast steel (nodular iron, but sounds better) cranks (eagle or any others?

Same here. H beam rods and cast crank. You'll break the block before the crank/rods.

go with the H-beam rods! i have a stroker 347 my self with a stock stroker crank and H-beams, running 10.90 n\a and 9.80 on the hose. I agree, the block will break before the crank!
