Help with a 332

My old 289 with Edelbrock 1.90 heads, TRy Y's, Performer cam and intake is going to go by by for a 332 this winter.
The car is mostly street driven with one trip to the drags every year on a club event.
The 68 Mustang convertable where the new engine will reside has an AOD and 3.25 gears.

I would like to have some experienced opinions on choice of rotating assembly,"Eagle, D.S.S., Scat, Pro Power etc. as well as the camshaft , intake manifold and carb that will give me some decent street performance in the 1500 to 6000 range.
At this time I have a standard converter in the tranny and wonder if I could keep it or if I will need to go one with a different stall.
Any educated input would be greatly appreciated.
Oh yeah, I want to use as much as I can from the old engine.

Help with a 332

As far as your cam goes Try these guidelines:
Cam duration @ .050 Powerband Transmission
190-205 idle-3500 man/auot stock stall

206-220 1500-4500 auto stall 5-600
above stock
221-230 2000-5500 auto 1000rpm above stock
231-234 2500-6000 1000-1500
234-238 3000-6500 2000 above stock

Id go w/ dual plane intake about idle to 6000 (low end)
single planes 2500-7000( top end)

460 C6 1800 stall stock
most are 1200-1600 stock C4/ C6 not sure about AOD
Hope this helps

Use the existing Performer cam and intake. Otherwise, consider a cam with specs like the Torquer model and upgrade to an air gap. You may need to consider an 11" aftermarket converter. For best performance with the stock converter, stick with the Performer cam.
