408 stroked 351W ????

I am wanting to build a supercharged 408 stroker from my 351W block. I am looking at Chevy aluminum rods (from a former Pro Stock truck engine, good to 1200 HP). What are the differences in the rod journal and wrist pin sizes? Will I be able to use the Arias forged pistons I already have or will I need to buy new pistons as well?
Thanks in advance Mike in Ga.

This is a race engine you're building, right?

Yes, this is a race engine. I found out that the rod journals are 2.00 so I will need to cut the crank down.10 , right?

Right which is a good thing. Less bearing speed.

Wow, a Pro Stock Truck engine that uses 2.00" BE's? I thought they were using Honda journals? (1.8-something)?

cool....didnt' know that!

NO NO NO

If the rod journals are 2" then they need a 1.8 or so crank BECAUSE you have to leave room for a rod bearing. So turning your crank to 2" would be a big mistake.

Also you need to know what the rod "width" is to make sure that too matches your crank.

Mavman,
apparently you are correct about the 1.8" journals. I might have understood it to be 2.0" but the crank would have to be cut to include rod bearing clearances? Is this something that a good machine shop would have known ahead or as I believe "you cut it to 2.00" , and need 1.8???"
Thanks guys.
