Thats a safe range. Similar to te 284 comp cam I ran in a LX, Ran Great. it will probably peak out a little lower in a 331.

What are your power goals? Are your heads stock or ported? If ported, what are the numbers?
The cam should make lots more power than advertised (7000+)

Using Edelbrock RPM non ported heads.
9.5 - 10 comp. w/ crower roller. And want 375-400HP at the flywheel.
Sound like a lost cause ?

I think youll make that. Remember that edelbrock was making 367 HP with a 302 that had their RPM package with a smaller flat tappet cam.

I have a 331 strokermotor. I am running the Trick Flow Stage 1 cam, TF Heads, TF Track Heat intake, Forged Flat Top Pistons, Scat 9000 Cast Crank, Roller Lifters and Rockers. I am getting 330 reliable Hp at the wheels. Crower makes a great product. I would be careful not to put too radical a cam in. I get the great rump rump idle, outstanding low end and mid range and it pulls hard to about 6000 rpm. It will rev more but there is no point to it. Instead of getting too radical with the motor, I have concentrated on weight reduction to help with performance and it has paid off well. I use my car for open track fun, not drag racing.
