Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

I was hoping get into the 11's but the car weighs about 3600 with me in it. I plan to reduce the weight with fibergass hood and bumpers and a few other tricks. Also, I am going up the a 3500 stall with antiballoning plates and put a nitrouse dry kit 100/150 hp. I ran the car again today with the same times low 12's. That just all it will do with this setup. But no trouble with motor at all.

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

My T&L engine finally arrived. It looks great. It's for sale and has an extended warranty. See my ad in the Parts for Sale section.

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

This is a follow up to my earlier post. I have finally received my engine after 50 weeks. This happened because I used PayPal and had them withdraw funds from his account. That is what it takes to get Lloyd's attention.
I am 57 years old, and by far, this is the worst buying experience of my life. Constant lies about shipping dates. Originally, this motor was supposed to take 9 weeks. I do have the engine now, but, what a suprise, they forgot to ship the carburetor, starter, and flexplate. I talked to Lloyd on March 5th, and he told me they shipped them that day. Now, it's March 19th, and no parts. Yesterday I talked to Ray, and he told me none of the parts had shipped, and they had lost the carburetor. He then told me they would overnight the parts to me. Well, it's now noon here, and there are no parts. Everyone there is so used to lying, that it's no big deal to them.
If you are thinking about buying an engine from these guys, do yourself a big favor, and don't do it. The prices are good, but the irritation and lies are not worth it.

I not taking up for T & L. They are very slow to deliver. Maybe if you pitch a tent in their parking lot, one mite get your motor on time. But with my motor it keeps getting better. Down in the elevens now. Torque is the secret to T & L motors. If you don't believe me, go to youtube and enter tnealp2 and watch the nova kill the mustang. The nova is complete with seats, factory everything drive everyday, and the mustang is super stock with roll bar no seats striped down. The only reason for racing the tang was the 1/4 mile stock line was to long, so I moved over to the super stock line. Notice the torque pull when I changed into 2nd gear. 3.42 rears 1/8 mile 7.4 ~~~~~!

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

Why waste the time. Trust me, they do NOTHING special to there engines. I have one in my shop as we speak and it is exactly what the customer paid for. Valve springs not set up correctly(beehives to be installed at 1.800 and are installed @ 1.860), cheap chineese rockers that were miss aligned, intake gasket was shifted more than 3/16 on the driver side bank, causing a major port restriction plus a water leak.
You are much better off paying a few extra bucks and buying from, CHP, Ford Strokers...ect.

I am glad you are happy tneal...you apparently are a very patient man

Sorry you guys had a bad experience. I guess I was lucky. Since I am a Chevy man, I guess I really don't need to be on a Ford forum in the 1st place.

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

after further review, same old song and dance. I ordered a short block from T and L on feb 26 thru Ebay. Took them till March 9th to get the upgrades I ordered right as I Talked to Lloyd a few times and he took my upgrade requests. Sent payment on March 9th. Keep in mind this is a short block guys. On mar 16th I received a reciept from Holly with my engine number. I have called numerous times and emailed to fix a shipping address error in the mean time. Of course Holly never replies to an email. Got rob on the phone, he supposedly fixed the info. Several weeks go by, and I call and leave messages and emails as to the status of my block. No reply. Two weeks later I leave an angry message about communication and get the "our guy is our of the shop ill" excuse. I email agian asking status, thru the Ebay system with my item number attached so they wont have any confusion. I get a reply from Rob askin what my engine number is. (can you believe they dont have engine build numbers associated with ebay item numbers?) I call again and leave a message, no return call. I called two days ago, gave Rob my engine number, and he couldnt find anything after 10 minutes on hold. At this point, I flip my lid and realize I am dealing with a bunch of rednecks who know how to build engines and race cars but cant run a business. Thank god I paid with AMerican Express thru PayPal. Thats my only recourse for my $2500 back. the 45 day ebay feedback expired conveniently for T and L, as did the PayPal dispute time, so Amex dispute is my guiding light. Just remember that when you buy online. Incidently, after I filed my dispute Rob called me back, and said he was looking at a beautiful shiny block with the wrong name and address on it. I had already filed the dispute and found this forum and others, and I told him I had already tried on numerous occasions to get the address fixed, and that it was too late, I had already filed a dispute. His reply was a smart ass comment that come Monday somebody was gonna be real happy that they could get a short block on a moments notice. Boy that really won me over. He can stick it in his a$$ for all I care. In a nut shell, this has been the worst buying experience in my 15 years online. As of now, they have pulled all of their items off of Ebay, and that too made me very suspicious. ANd oh, it was the ebay feedback that suckered me in. Now I realize why. The people that get delayed past 45 day dont have a chance. Now I wonder, after seeing the ebay shop empty, if all this is finally catching up too them.

Now Ihave to start over and am definately looking for a local builder. Learned my lesson.
