Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

justsayno, sorry to hear about your adventure. I cant beleive these clowns have lasted as long as they have.
I have been using CHP, they are top notch, and when they say an engine will be ready on such a day, it is, and it is done right. I am not sure where you are located, but it may be worth a call.
Good luck,
Rick

after further review, same old song and dance. I ordered a short block from T and L on feb 26 thru Ebay. Took them till March 9th to get the upgrades I ordered right as I Talked to Lloyd a few times and he took my upgrade requests. Sent payment on March 9th. Keep in mind this is a short block guys. On mar 16th I received a reciept from Holly with my engine number. I have called numerous times and emailed to fix a shipping address error in the mean time. Of course Holly never replies to an email. Got rob on the phone, he supposedly fixed the info. Several weeks go by, and I call and leave messages and emails as to the status of my block. No reply. Two weeks later I leave an angry message about communication and get the "our guy is our of the shop ill" excuse. I email agian asking status, thru the Ebay system with my item number attached so they wont have any confusion. I get a reply from Rob askin what my engine number is. (can you believe they dont have engine build numbers associated with ebay item numbers?) I call again and leave a message, no return call. I called two days ago, gave Rob my engine number, and he couldnt find anything after 10 minutes on hold. At this point, I flip my lid and realize I am dealing with a bunch of rednecks who know how to build engines and race cars but cant run a business. Thank god I paid with AMerican Express thru PayPal. Thats my only recourse for my $2500 back. the 45 day ebay feedback expired conveniently for T and L, as did the PayPal dispute time, so Amex dispute is my guiding light. Just remember that when you buy online. Incidently, after I filed my dispute Rob called me back, and said he was looking at a beautiful shiny block with the wrong name and address on it. I had already filed the dispute and found this forum and others, and I told him I had already tried on numerous occasions to get the address fixed, and that it was too late, I had already filed a dispute. His reply was a smart ass comment that come Monday somebody was gonna be real happy that they could get a short block on a moments notice. Boy that really won me over. He can stick it in his a$$ for all I care. In a nut shell, this has been the worst buying experience in my 15 years online. As of now, they have pulled all of their items off of Ebay, and that too made me very suspicious. ANd oh, it was the ebay feedback that suckered me in. Now I realize why. The people that get delayed past 45 day dont have a chance. Now I wonder, after seeing the ebay shop empty, if all this is finally catching up too them.

Now Ihave to start over and am definately looking for a local builder. Learned my lesson.
Actually, We're no longer doing business with eBay for several reasons. First and foremost, we're very busy with work and the amount of phone calls/emails it was generating was almost counterproductive. Then of coarse there are the fees associated with dealing on eBay as well as Pay Pal. As you may know, T&L Engines is VERY competitive on their pricing and taking a 10% loss or so is nothing T&L Engines is truthfully interested in at this point in time.

In your situation, you're on a forum misrepresenting your experiences with a company that has been in business many, many years. While I am not pugnacious in nature like yourself I will set the record straight.

1: You purchased an engine offline that had a different address linked to your account/ payment/ shipping address.

2: You, instead of being rational and making the necessary corrections to your eBay account decided to scream, yell, whine and complain over the phone.

3: I am unsure of your knowledge of business however often, companies do have scheduling systems, customer order numbers and filing systems. These however are susceptible to failure when someones name on a payment is not associated with the name on the shipping address, the billing address or their account on the website. Most companies WILL NOT ship a product to any other address than the one on the account for many reasons.

Regardless, it is much easier to call RATIONALLY and discuss the aforementioned issues than to lose your temper, act malevolently and expect instant success. Sorry, but thats just irrational. I am sorry your order went that way however, Truth be told, all the acrimony you experienced was on accord of your own oversight.

P.S. The "maturity" you emit is a solid example of your nature.

Wow, I don't care what any employee from T&L says, They appear to be a bunch of rip off artists. There are thousands of unhappy people out there that have been scammed from T&L... Then they have the nerve to come on here and try to save grace. Maybe T&L delivers the odd good motor but where are the rest of them? No one seems to be receiving them, And if they do its 6 months to late.

Don't get too upset reignman... it seems like you will continue selling engines to people despite your past business indiscretions. There is a sucker born every minute and you will likely continue to find them.

I do find it odd that you joined an internet forum to only defend yourself against ONE claim made by one individual. You completely fail to provide an excuse for your shops lack of ability in delivering product or for its failure to communicate with paying customers in a timely and accurate manor. Why should anyone have to wait 6 months for a motor??? That must be everybody else’s fault too, I guess. These stories are too common to be unfounded.

My advice would be for your shop to incorporate a more organized system of job tracking and delivery forecasting.

So I guess that T&L screwed over all the other guys that I have read about here & other forums. Cause he only defended himself for this engine only.

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

Ok reignman... explain the 45 days to build a shortblock? My dead grandmother can build a special order motor quicker than that.

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

Whoa. I´m just glad I chose Fordstrokers to deliver my engine. It took a while, but it does have custom cam from CI, and even the valve lash is adjusted already, in the box. I just hope it doesn´t brake my stang in half.

Don´t know **** about this company. Just wanted to say that even though Jim Woods is also very busy, and strugles to keep up with schedules, he delivers!
