Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

sounds like a dangerous game this fool is playing,
i really hope anyone thinking of ordering from him comes across this thread before they get taken in.
what really gets me is how businesses can fold, then open up under another name only to repeat these unprofessional practices again

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

Update time for me: a couple of weeks went by and I had no update from T&L and I also had on luck getting them to answer the phone. Finally, I called early one morning and I spoke to a guy named Rob. Rob actually sold me the engine originally but he had left to crew chief a race team. This was his first day back and he was not happy.

He told me that he would call me back the next day because he had a lot of things to investigate for me and other people. He did in fact call me and has since provided very regular communication via phone and e-mail.

I made a small change and with that my engine should ship out at the end of the week.

I will not hold my breath but I will keep my fingers crossed. I will post whatever happens next.

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

Rob has been calling me daily even if he has no update. The engine should go on the dyno in the next few days. He called me this morning just to let me know that he is keeping on top of things. I feel much better and I just hope the quality of the build follows Robs efforts.

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

Ive had the same runaround as you guys ..... I just thought it was becaurse i was from Denmark.

But anyhow it came ! And after install i drove 60 miles then i found out it had a blown headgasket they said it was my own dooing becaurse it ran on 95RON gas and the timing was changed to 16 degrees from 10deg. becaurse it didnt run well and it died at idle and idle was set to 1200rpm .......

Ive gad the gasket changed two days ago and again after 60 miles today its time to be towed ....Blown head gasket !!!!!

And no i havent hammered the gaspedal the revlimiter hasent been hitted and its set to 5000rpm

Ill never buy there again eventhoug ill soon gonna need a race engine

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

I promised I would post back when I got my engine. It did finally arrive in mid July. the 408 clocked in at 495 HP on their Dyno. I have not been able to run it yet to address any of the other nightmares on this thread over quality. I will keep the group posted. I am not sure if anyone is still reading this thread so let me know if I should bother with the update.

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

I, for one, would be interested in the update. I'm considering a new engine this winter, and saw their ads on Ebay.. remembered this thread and have been watching with interest. If no one else is interested, I'll take a PM update, but Im sure others would like to know

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

Well, I had a poor choice of words. Im interested in the outcome, and did see their ads on Ebay, as I was searching for options on a new engine this winter. Probably should have been clearer that Im not looking at buying from these guys, but I am interested in the outcome.

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

Well guys I have ordered a 408 stroker from them and I will keep everyone updadted on the progress. As to how long it takes and the quality of the engine work etc and also throughout the process of driving it and how it holds up and all. I will later post the exact specs of the engine etc as soon as it is posted. I was told from Lloyd that the engine would be done and shipped in time that I could get it installed and everything for the rod run here in tn Sept 20th.
Later..

Re: T&L ENGINES IN N.C.

Hi all (and T&L),

This is my very first post to any forum!! But I felt compelled to write after my CURRENT ongoing order delays. So I ordered my engine back on 3/17/08 and have had ZERO contact from T&L. Every communication was initiated by me because i was told "dyno next week" (sound familiar to anyone?). Anyway, I harbor no bad feelings other than the fact that i hate being told 6-8 weeks four f&$king times! So, I just called again today and got the same 'ol sh^%. After I was done bitching and moaning, I was told that I would get a call back today to address this (5 months later). Huh, guess what, no freaking call!

Needless to say, very, very disappointed. Now, I don't even care if I get the motor tomorrow and its an absolute beast! So what! What if I have problems? Do i send back and wait another 5 months... if, I get a call back?!?!? I don't think so. I'm building this car to drive not sit in the garage. I have been told 6-8weeks 4 times, no difference in status at all during each of "my" contacts to them.

Bottom line, This was once a very exciting time for me. I'm actually coughing up the cash for an awesome motor built by some awesome folks. Now, I feel afraid that I just lost $10k and have no motor either. This is no longer a positive, exciting experience... this totally sucks!!

I hope someone from T & see this and can post a REAL response to explain this. I don't like thrashing anyone, but this is ridiculous.

T & L, I'm calling you out! Respond, so I know that you really do care about your customer satisfaction. Currently, its all smoke up my @$$.

You have my name, number(s), email, etc. still no contact... what gives guys?
