long tube vs shorty headers

on a 393 stroker, decent cam, dual plane intake, power band up to around 6000rpm's.
I'm sure I'll have more torque than my tires can handle, don't think I need the extra torque that long tube hdrs give, will I be as well of with shorty headers or even get more top end?
Anyone have shorty's on a stroked 351?

I am using the Hedman shorty swap headers for a 351W in a 65 Mustang. I hear Acufab makes a nice set of 1+3/4" long tubes, I'm just to cheap to buy a set (so far)

If i ever had the choice of longtubes over shorties, I would choose longtubes. Now...I may be slightly behind the times here, but nowhere have I seen any data that shows me longtubes only make low end torque, and not horsepower...OR that shorties make 'more' horsepower than longtubes.

If you lose power with longtubes, you picked the wrong size.
