289 block question

Well I've done it. my all motor pump gas 347 split my late model block. my question is is the c50e 289 block in my garage any stronger then the 1980 block I was using. I really don't want to have to buy a dart block for an 8.2 when the original plan was to build a 462 inch windsor next year but i definaly want this thing back for the summer.

289 block question

In my opinion- They don’t make them like they use to. The ’65 289 is one tough block

289 block question

why not just build the dart windsor now??? hehe
you have a perfect excuse. mom/wife/significant other/whatever the amount of power im producing really justifies buying a new dart block in 9.5 then jsut show him her whatever the block as proof. you cant loose

289 block question

unfortunatly when the bank is taking my house away the lawyers creditors and bankers wont give a pooh about a dart block. Its not costing me much to put it back together and its alot easier to sell a complete motor then in parts plus you get more$$$. besides the car is all set up for the 302 and im looking foward to racing this year.

289 block question

I run a 65 , 289 block on my 347 , no problems . I do use a stud girdle on the mains, makes me feel a little better.I run KB 13 to 1 pistons,672 solid roller.I did lose one 65 block but it was 060 over and split three cylinders after 4 years.I have built four 347's,all with 65-289 blocks. ROY
